Borough Market / The Anchor

July 17, 2007

I’m going to assume everybody has heard of Borough Market, and thus will save you the description. Instead I’ll just boast about the fact that I generally get there between 9:30 and 10:30 whatever the previous nights’ events. Pretty amazing, huh…

…and tiring. Luckily, if the weather permits, there’s a great place to read the weekend papers and soak up the sunshine. More importantly to “at last” sit down after a lot of aimless wandering, trying to figure out which sandwich/snack will do this time. This wonderful place is a pub – of course – and it’s called The Anchor. And it boasts a huge thames side terrase with great views and nice chunky wooden picnic-type tables. It’s a little expensive (I like my pint to be £2.50) but irresistible on a glorious saturday.

UPDATE: This saturday, went round to Borough Market with the only goal of finding a good croissant, we even went to the Marmouth Coffee Shop, and sadly the results were very disappointing. Might I add that I set a new own record. I arrived at 9.15!!! It was empty (compared to later)! It was great! Do you get it that this explains that…?

I turned up so early because I didn’t go out the previous night, and so didn’t feel like something sausagy or bacony…
